Finding the right journalist or writer for your pitch can be overwhelming. Following the launch of HARO Journalists Profiles, Featured now supports Find Journalists, a search agent to help scale your PR efforts.

Find Journalists is available to all users on Featured, with paid plans having access to additional functionality and usage.

How to use Find Journalists

To access the Find Journalists tool, navigate to Experts > Find Journalists. From here, you'll be able to start the chat with the search agent.

Users can search or make calls based on the following searches:

  • Website URL: This allows you to enter a press release, announcement, etc., and ask the agent for journalists relevant to the topic.

  • Industry: You can ask the agent to find journalists relevant to a specific industry.

    • Example: Find me journalists covering semiconductors

  • Location: You can ask the agent to find journalists based in specific areas such as cities, countries, coutries and regions.

    • Example: Find me sports journalists covering major league baseball based in the following markets: LA, Chicago, Miami, and NYC

  • Publication: You can ask the agent to find journalists working for specific outlets.

    • Example: Find me journalists at USA Today who cover travel.

What to expect

The Find Journalists tool will take in your input and either ask a clarifying question or will pull a list of typically 10 relevant journalists. The search may take a couple of minutes to complete, depending on how specific the input is or whether you ask the agent to read a URL.
