Featured allows publishers to connect their content management systems (CMS) to automatically receive completed articles directly into their websites. Featured’s CMS integration currently supports WordPress, with plans to expand to additional platforms.
How the Integration Works
The integration uses WordPress Application Passwords, which allow Featured to securely connect to your WordPress site's API.
Application Passwords are unique, secure passwords created for a specific application—such as Featured—to allow safe, limited-access connections.
When you are redirected to WordPress to approve the application password, the WordPress user account used must have “Editor” access or higher. This permission level is required for Featured to create article drafts in your WordPress site.
The WordPress user who sets up the application password becomes the default author of all imported posts.
Benefits of CMS Integration
Once your CMS is connected to Featured, you can:
Automatically receive completed Q&A Article requests as drafts or published posts, depending on your selected preference.
Edit the article directly in your CMS and publish it when ready.
Allow Featured to detect when your article is published, update your Featured account, and notify the experts quoted in the article.
How to Set Up CMS Integration
Follow these steps to connect your WordPress site to Featured:
Go to the Integrations – Requests page.
Enter your Website URL.
Select your publishing preference:
Publish automatically: Sends the article live immediately.
Publish manually: Saves the article as a draft for you to schedule or publish.
Click Submit and follow the instructions when redirected to your WordPress site.
You can manage, edit, or remove integrations anytime from the Integrations – Websites page.
