As of Nov 6, 2025, users can request edits and updates to the First Name, Last Name and LinkedIn Link fields in-app for their expert profile.
Featured had previously locked the ability to change names for users to limit attribution errors. We took this step because when an expert profile is created, we create a unique user ID for that profile. The user ID is how our platform associates what name and headshot should be shared with the publisher or journalists when they select quotes or receive a completed article.
Previously, if an edit was needed, we asked users to email us directly — not the most convenient way to make a needed update!
Now you can request edits to these three fields directly from the Edit Profile page, and our team will review and approve the updates as requests roll in.
To request an edit, navigate to the Profiles page and click the purple pencil "Edit Profile" icon for the expert profile you wish to make an edit for.
From the Edit Profile page, click "edit" of the field you wish to update. This will unlock the field and allow you to type
Once you've made your edit, click Save. You'll see a clock icon replace the edit text and next to the expert profile you edited on the main Profiles page. This means your edit request is under review and may take up to 72 hrs for approval.
Once our team approves the edit request, you'll receive an email from us confirming the change has been made.
