Overview

Featured is now using Domain Authority from Moz instead of Domain Rating from Ahrefs. Both are 100-point scale metrics that help you evaluate the SEO strength of a website, but Moz offers better scalability and real-time updates.

Why we’re making the change

As our platform scaled to include over 1,000 publications, our team could no longer manually update Domain Ratings. We needed an automated solution.

  • Ahrefs API requires a $15,000/year Enterprise Plan

  • Moz API is pay-as-you-go, affordable, and easy to scale

Switching to Moz ensures we can keep Featured accessible while offering reliable SEO data.

What is Domain Authority?

Domain Authority (DA) is a Moz metric that predicts how likely a website is to rank in search engine results. Like Ahrefs’ Domain Rating, it’s measured on a 100-point scale.

You’ll now see Domain Authority next to each publication on Featured when evaluating opportunities.

What this means for you

  • You’ll still see a 100-point SEO metric for every publication—just sourced from Moz, not Ahrefs

  • Data will now be updated automatically, ensuring accuracy over time

  • Moz integration opens the door for new metrics like Brand Authority in the future
