How do I get started as an expert on Featured?

Here's the very basics on getting started on Featured

1. Sign up and verify your account email address

  • Head to Featured.com and sign up with your preferred email address: https://featured.com/sign-up

  • Before accessing Featured, you will need to verify your account email address. Look for an email with the subject line "Verify Your Email on Featured."

2. Create your Expert Profile

  • Go to Admin > Profiles and click the Add New Profile button to create your Expert Profile

  • Your Expert Profile will include your first and last name, professional headshot, personal LinkedIn URL, job title, company name and company website.

    • Tip: You can always click the Opt Out of Company Affiliation check if you do not want your company details made public to publishers!

  • Add your Profile Email from the start to get started on Profile Verification right away.

3. Fill out your Expert Page

  • Once you've saved your Expert Profile, your Expert Page will be automatically created. You can access it by navigating to the Public Profiles Pages and clicking the View/Edit Profile button for your respective Expert Page.

  • On your Expert Page, you can add a professional bio, education experience, expertise topics, and a featured portfolio section. Publishers and journalists can view your Expert Page to learn more about you. Use the various pencil icons to edit each section.

  • Your page will be automatically set to be indexed by search engines! You can update your preferences by toggling the visibility settings from the Public Profile Pages

4. Verify your account email address

  • After creating your Expert Profile and completing your Expert Page, make sure to verify your account email address.

  • Verifying your account email address helps ensure we have an active email so our team can reach you and share any updates related to your answer submissions

  • A verified account email address also helps the publisher send a message to you via your Expert Page contact form

Not sure if you received the email? Search your inbox for the subject line "Featured - Confirm your email address." You can always resend the email by clicking the notification at the top of your page.

5. Start with the free plan, then upgrade once you have a feel for the platform

  • Free plan lets you set up to 3 keyword alerts and submit up to 3 answers per month. You can also submit one Bylined Article submission per month.

  • Lite plan ($19/month) lets you submit 10 answers across any expert profile, set 10 keyword alerts, plus you can submit one Bylined Article submission per month.

  • Pro plan ($49/month per seat) allows for unlimited answer submissions, unlimited Bylined Article submissions, expands keyword alerts to 25, and adds filtering by domain authority and attribution type

  • Business plan ($99/month per seat) includes everything in the Pro Plan plus the ability to create interview profiles, premium API access and PR insights.

  • Treat Featured as a long-term strategy—submit a couple of answers weekly and give it at least a few months to see results.

  • Use our tracking tools to monitor which submissions get placed and how they convert
